F.A.Q.s
WHAT IS “SONGSEEKER”? SongSeeker is one of the most popular elements of the conference and it has become a source for new music for thousands of worship leaders each year. Songs that have been on SongSeeker have been discovered and used all over the world. In keeping with our goal of encouraging attendee participation, attendees are invited to submit their original songs.
From all the submissions, a panel of varied worship leaders and industry professionals select the 10 best to be recorded and included, along with sheet music and lyrics, on the SongSeeker CD.
Well known artists have appeared on SongSeeker singing the songs of attendees just like yourself! Past recordings have featured the likes of Crystal Lewis, Tommy Walker, Sarah Kelly, Morris Chapman, Lincoln Brewster, Adam Watts, Natalie LaRue and many others.
WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED? Once the deadline passes on May 1st, the selection process takes a few days. When the songs are chosen, we notify the writers immediately. Unfortunately, due to the large volume of submissions, we can only notify the selected writers. So, if you don’t hear from us within a week of May 1st, your song was not selected. (But thank you in advance for your submission, and keep trying! Some writers submitted several years in a row before their songs were selected!)
AM I GIVING UP MY RIGHTS TO OR OWNERSHIP OF MY SONG? No way! This project is entirely to promote the original songs and songwriters of the local church. The writer retains all rights to the song. See the application guidelines for more details.
WHEN IS THAT DEADLINE AGAIN? 12:00pm on May 1st is our absolute cutoff. To be fair to all, we will not accept any submissions that come in after that time!
WILL MY SUBMISSION BE RETURNED TO ME? Uh…any volunteers want to handle that process? No, unfortunately, we cannot return your submissions. Do NOT send your only copy!
WHO GETS THE FINAL CD? The CD is handed out FREE to every attendee at the conference. This means that thousands of worship leaders and decision makers are walking away with your songs, including sheet music and lyrics, so they can start using it their churches right away!
